Nose balm for children is an anthroposophical medicine that is used to harmonize the interaction between sensation and life organization in the area of the mucous membranes of the nasopharynx and sinuses in the event of a lack of differentiation from external influences and weakness in the life organization.These include acute and chronic inflammation, especially in childhood and infancy, as well as when the mucous membranes are particularly sensitive and there is a tendency to tissue loss (atrophy).

Contraindications

The medicine should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to Balsam of Peru, cinnamon (cross allergy) or any of the other ingredients, or if you have a pronounced allergic disposition.In addition, it must not be used on damaged skin.

Precautions and warnings

If you have facial swelling, fever, severe headaches, or persistent, unclear or new symptoms, you should see a doctor.No prescription is required for this product.Wool wax, a component of nose balm, can in rare cases cause localized skin irritation.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Like all medicines, nose balm for children during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only be used after consulting a doctor.

Dosage and method of administration

Unless otherwise prescribed, the ointment should be applied into the nose several times a day, especially in the evening and, if necessary, at night.In infants and small children, the ointment can be applied to the nasal entrance area.Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks.If there is no improvement within 5 days, you should consult a doctor.The duration of treatment for chronic diseases requires consultation with the doctor.

Side effects

If you are hypersensitive to components of nose balm for children, especially wool wax or Peru balsam, allergic reactions can occur.If skin redness occurs, possibly associated with itching, the use of nose balm for children should be stopped and a doctor consulted.

Composition

10 g of the nose balm contains the following active ingredients: Balsamum peruvianum 0.05 g, Berberis vulgaris e fructibus ferm 33c Ø (HAB, Vs. 33c) 1.00 g, Prunus spinosa e fructibus LA 25% (HAB, Vs.12o) 0.50 g, aqueous colloidsSilicon dioxide solution (corresponding to Silicea colloidalis 0.05 g) prepared with citric acid monohydrate 1.25 g.Other ingredients are ethanol 96%, lecithin, virgin olive oil and wool wax.

Dosage form and pack size

The nose balm is available as a 10 g ointment.
