Instructions for use of Archangelica 10% ointment

Archangelica 10% ointment is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for subacute to chronic inflammation of the lymph nodes, glandular diseases, especially in children with a tendency to repeated inflammation, and as an accompanying treatment for inflammation of the parotid gland.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredient and composition

The active ingredient in Archangelica 10% ointment is Archangelica, ethanol.Decoctum mother tincture.The ointment base consists of refined sesame oil, lanolin, yellow wax, lanolin alcohols (which contain butylated hydroxytoluene) and purified water.

Application and dosage

Archangelica 10% ointment should always be used exactly as directed by your doctor.The usual dose is applied 1-3 times daily or used as an ointment dressing.To use as an ointment bandage, a piece of linen or cotton fabric is thinly coated with the ointment, placed with the ointment side over the affected areas and secured.

Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks.If there is no improvement within 2 - 5 days, you should consult a doctor.The duration of treatment for chronic diseases requires consultation with the doctor.

Precautions and Interactions

Archangelica 10% ointment must not be used if you are hypersensitive to angelica, sesame oil or any of the other ingredients.It should not be used without medical advice and does not replace other medicines prescribed by a doctor.If symptoms persist or are unclear, a doctor must be consulted.

An increase in sensitivity to light is possible, so extensive sunbathing or other intensive UV-radiation should be avoided for the duration of use.Like all medicines, Archangelica 10% ointment should only be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after consulting a doctor.

No known interactions with other medicines.Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

Side effects

If you are hypersensitive to components of Archangelica 10% ointment, especially wool wax alcohols, allergic reactions may occur.If skin redness occurs, possibly associated with itching, please stop use and, if necessary, consult your doctor.In rare cases, sesame oil can cause severe allergic reactions.

Storage and shelf life

You must not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the tube and carton.After opening the pack, the ointment has a shelf life of 4 weeks.Storage conditions: Do not store above 30°C.
