Area of application

The preparation is used to bind phosphate from food and enable it to be excreted in the stool.It is used to reduce elevated phosphate levels in the blood and is particularly indicated for chronic kidney failure where dialysis is indicated.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

The preparation contains 475 mg of calcium diacetate and 120.36 mg of calcium ions.The following excipients are also included: carboxymethyl starch, sodium salt type A, croscarmellose, sodium salt, gelatin, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, corn starch, virgin castor oil, saccharin, sodium salt, sucrose and orange flavor.

Contraindications

The preparation must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium acetate or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also contraindicated in the case of low phosphate concentrations in the blood, increased calcium concentrations in the blood, increased excretion of calcium in the urine associated with the occurrence of calcium-containing kidney stones, decalcifying tumors and secondary ulcers in the bones, severe kidney failure without dialysis treatment, constipation, known narrowing of the colon or abnormal bone decalcification as a result of long-term lack of exercise.

Dosage

Always take the preparation exactly as your doctor has told you.The usual dose for adults is 1-2 film-coated tablets for breakfast, 1-2 film-coated tablets for a snack, 2-6 film-coated tablets for the main meal and 2-4 film-coated tablets for dinner.The dosage varies from patient to patient and should be adjusted according to the amount of food consumed.Please adhere to the application instructions, otherwise the product may not work as expected.

If you take more than you should, tell your doctor or pharmacist.Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.Do not stop treatment without talking to your doctor first.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be taken during or immediately after a meal.The tablets must be swallowed whole and with a little liquid.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the drug, as therapy requires frequent monitoring of calcium and phosphate levels in the blood.Further calcium therapy should only be carried out after consultation with the treating doctor.The preparation has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

Before taking any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.The likelihood of hypercalcemia is increased in pregnant women who take calcium and vitamin D at the same time.
