Area of application
This preparation is used to lower elevated phosphate levels in the blood.It is particularly indicated for chronic kidney failure requiring dialysis treatment.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The active ingredient of this preparation is calcium diacetate in a dosage of 475 mg per film-coated tablet, which corresponds to a content of 120.36 mg calcium ions.In addition, the preparation contains various excipients such as carboxymethyl starch, sodium salt type A, croscarmellose, sodium salt, gelatin, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, corn starch, virgin castor oil, saccharin, sodium salt, sucrose and orange flavor.
Contraindications
The preparation must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium acetate or any of the other ingredients.Furthermore, taking it is not suitable if there are low phosphate concentrations in the blood, increased calcium concentrations in the blood, increased excretion of calcium in the urine associated with the occurrence of calcium-containing kidney stones, decalcifying tumors and secondary ulcers in the bones, severe kidney failure without dialysis treatment, constipation, known narrowing of the large intestine or abnormal bone decalcification as a result of long-term lack of exercise.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you.The recommended dose for adults is 1-2 film-coated tablets for breakfast, 1-2 film-coated tablets for a snack, 2-6 film-coated tablets for the main meal and 2-4 film-coated tablets for dinner.The dosage must be adjusted individually, depending on the amount of food consumed and thus the amount of phosphate absorbed.
If you have taken more than you should, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose, but continue treatment as prescribed.
Intake
The film-coated tablets should be taken during or immediately after a meal.Swallow the tablets whole with a little liquid.

Before taking the product, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.Therapy requires frequent monitoring of calcium and phosphate levels in the blood.Further calcium therapy should only be carried out after consultation with the treating doctor.
The preparation has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.The likelihood of hypercalcemia is increased in pregnant women who take calcium and vitamin D at the same time.
