Instructions for use for the article Arnica/Symphytum Comp.ointment

Arnica/Symphytum Comp.Ointment is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for blunt injuries and joint diseases.The ointment contains various active ingredients such as Aconitum napellus, arnica extract, betula folium, mandragora, comfrey root, rosemary oil and larch resin.The excipients include refined sesame oil, lanolin, yellow wax, lanolin alcohols and purified water.

Areas of application

According to the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, the following areas of application are mentioned: bruises, bruises, strains, sprains, broken bones, pain arising from the periosteum as well as chronic inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases.In the case of acute conditions with redness, swelling or overheating of the joints as well as persistent or recurring symptoms, a doctor should be consulted.

Dosage and instructions for use

Children aged 2 and over, teenagers and adults can use the ointment 1-3 times a day.A strand of ointment 1-5 cm long is applied thinly to the affected area of skin and massaged in lightly.Alternatively, an ointment bandage can be applied and left on the affected area for one to several hours or overnight.The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.It should not be used for longer than 6 weeks per year.

Contraindications

The ointment must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, damaged skin or in infants and small children under 2 years of age.During pregnancy and breastfeeding it should only be used after consulting a doctor.

Side effects

Possible side effects include skin hypersensitivity reactions such as itching, skin inflammation with itching and redness, blistering, as well as cross-allergies and shortness of breath.If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.
