Area of application
The medicine magno sanol capsules is an oral magnesium replacement preparation that is used in cases of proven magnesium deficiency.It is used in particular when magnesium deficiency is the cause of muscle activity disorders, such as neuromuscular disorders or leg cramps.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
The active ingredient in magno sanol capsules is heavy magnesium oxide.Each hard capsule contains 250 mg magnesium oxide, which corresponds to 150.8 mg or 6.2 mmol magnesium.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, macrogol 4000, gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171) and iron(II,III) oxide (E 172).
Contraindications
magno sanol capsules must not be taken if you are allergic to magnesium oxide or any of the other ingredients of the drug.The preparation should also not be used in cases of severe kidney dysfunction, myasthenia gravis (pronounced muscle weakness), interruption of the conduction system in the heart (AV block), a tendency to form kidney stones or if the body lacks water (dehydration).
Dosage
The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over is 1 hard capsule in the morning and 1 hard capsule in the evening.Children aged 6 years and over should take 1 hard capsule once daily.The hard capsules are swallowed whole with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water.There is no time limit on intake, but a treatment period of at least 3 months is recommended.If your kidney function is intact, no special measures need to be taken in the event of an overdose, but you should always inform your doctor.Possible symptoms of an overdose may include nausea, vomiting, central nervous system disorders, decreased breathing, weakened reflexes, muscle weakness and cardiovascular effects such as vasodilatation, a sharp drop in blood pressure and cardiac arrest.
Intake
The hard capsules of magno sanol are taken whole with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking magno sanol, especially if you suffer from mild or moderate impairment of kidney function.In this case, your doctor should monitor your electrolyte balance regularly.Children under 6 years of age should not use the product.There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines, but drowsiness may occur and affect alertness following use of high doses for a long period of time.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.If magnesium is administered shortly before birth, the newborn should be monitored for signs of toxicity.

Other
Soft stools can be the result of taking high doses of magnesium.If disruptive diarrhea occurs, the daily dose should be reduced.If you consume higher amounts of magnesium over a longer period of time, regular checks of the magnesium levels in the blood should be carried out, especially if you have impaired kidney function.
