Instructions for use of Echinacea/Mercurius Comp.Children's suppositories

Echinacea/Mercurius comp.are suppositories for children that are used as anthroposophic medicines for tonsillitis.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

This medicine is used according to the anthroposophical knowledge of man and nature.It is used to stimulate the immune system in cases of feverish, acute inflammatory processes, such as tonsillitis (angina tonsillaris), as well as in cases of a tendency to the formation of abscesses.

Contraindications

The medicine should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the active ingredients or excipients or to other composite plants.For fundamental reasons, Echinacea/Mercurius comp.should not be used in progressive systemic diseases such as tuberculosis, leukosis, collagen vascular disease, multiple sclerosis, AIDS-diseases, HIV-infections, chronic viral diseases and autoimmune diseases.

Precautions and warnings

If you have a fever over 39 °C, abscesses or long-lasting or unclear symptoms, you should consult a doctor.

Interactions

To date, there are no known interactions with other medications.

Dosage and method of administration

Unless otherwise prescribed, 1 suppository should be inserted into the rectum 2 to 3 times daily.Echinacea/Mercurius comp.Pediatric suppositories are intended for use in infants and children under 7 years of age.

Duration of application

Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 1 week.If there is no improvement within 2 days, see a doctor.The duration of use should not be longer than 8 weeks without medical advice.

Side effects

Very rarely, newborns and infants up to 12 weeks, children with bronchial asthma and patients with Down syndrome can react sensitively to the ingredients of belladonna (Atropa belladonna), which can temporarily lead to changes in breathing rate or increased tiredness.Hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, itching, facial swelling, shortness of breath, dizziness and drop in blood pressure are also possible.In such cases, the medication should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted.

Composition

1 Suppository of 1 g contains the following active ingredients: Apis mellifica ex animale toto Gl Dil.D3 (HAB, Vs. 41c) 1 mg, Argentum metallicum Dil.D18 aquos.1 mg, Atropa belladonna e fructibus ferm 33a Dil.D2 (HAB, Vs. 33a) 1 mg, Echinacea pallida e radice ferm 33d Ø (HAB, Vs. 33d) 1 mg and Mercurius solubilis Hahne-manni Dil.D13 aquos.1 mg.Components 2, 3 and 5 are raised to the power together over two stages.Other ingredients include hard fat and honey.

Dosage form and pack size

The medicine is available in packs of 10 suppositories of 1 g each.

Storage

Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the container and the outer packaging.Do not store/keep above 25 °C!
