Mode of action

Regaine Women contains the active ingredient minoxidil, which expands the blood vessels and thus improves blood flow to the hair follicles.This promotes the supply of nutrients to the hair roots and can stimulate hair growth.Minoxidil has proven effective in treating hereditary hair loss in women as it promotes hair growth.The hair follicles are better supplied with blood and can therefore be better supplied with nutrients.The hair roots can be strengthened and the hair can grow over a longer period of time.This allows the cells to actively divide and renew themselves for longer.If the treatment is carried out as recommended, initial therapeutic success is possible after just 12 weeks.

Contraindications

Rogaine Women must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to minoxidil or any of the other ingredients of the drug, in the simultaneous use of other topical medications on the scalp, in cases of sudden or uneven hair loss, in children and adolescents under 18 years of age, during pregnancy and while breast-feeding, as well as in patients with evidence of cardiovascular disease or cardiac arrhythmias or in high blood pressure patients, including patients who are on therapy with antihypertensive drugs.

Dosage

Apply 1 ml of Rogaine Women twice a day (morning and evening) to the affected areas of the scalp.The amount of 1 ml solution used twice daily should not be exceeded, regardless of the size of the affected skin area.The scalp must be dry before the scalp or hair can be moistened.After applying the solution, hands should be washed carefully to avoid accidental contact with mucous membranes and eyes.After applying the solution you should wait at least 4 hours.The solution should not be used on other parts of the body.

The onset and extent of hair growth varies between individual patients.Treatment should last at least 3 to 4 months before an effect can be expected.If the desired treatment success is not achieved within 8 months, therapy should be discontinued.

Intake

Regaine Women is intended for use on the skin (scalp).Each pack contains 3 different applicators: a metered dropper for small scalp areas, a pump spray applicator with an extended tip for smaller areas and a pump spray applicator for large area use.For the dose of 1 ml, one fill up to the 1 ml mark (dosing dropper pipette) or 6 sprays (pump sprays) are required.

Patient information

If you accidentally come into contact with sensitive areas (eyes, abrasions, mucous membranes), you must rinse these areas with plenty of water.Avoid inhaling the spray fumes.Accidental ingestion can cause serious side effects in the cardiovascular system.Therefore, you must keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

Children and adolescents: The medicine must not be used in children and adolescents under the age of 18, as there are no results on effectiveness and safety from controlled clinical studies for this patient group.

Ability to drive and use machines: The ability to actively participate in road traffic or to operate machines is not expected to be impaired.

Pregnancy

Regaine Women must not be used by pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers as there are no studies on pregnant women and minoxidil can pass into breast milk.
