Instructions for use for Helixor A series pack III

Helixor® A/-M/-P injection solution contains an extract of fresh mistletoe as the active ingredient in a ratio of 1:20.The production is specific to each variant: Helixor® A is made from pine mistletoe, Helixor® M from apple tree mistletoe and Helixor® P from pine mistletoe.The amount of fresh plant used per ampoule is given in milligrams.Water for injections and sodium chloride in a ratio of 99.91:0.09 are used as extractants.

This anthroposophical medicine is used in adults to support malignant and benign tumor diseases, including accompanying disorders of the hematopoietic organs, as well as to prevent relapses after tumor operations and in defined precancerous lesions.No prescription is required for this product.

Application and dosage

Helixor® is administered by subcutaneous injection, if possible close to the tumor or metastases, otherwise in different areas of the intact skin.The usual dosage is 2-3 injections per week.Therapy usually begins with a low dose, which is gradually increased until the optimal individual dose is reached.This dose is then maintained in the maintenance phase, with rhythmic applications and breaks recommended to avoid habituation effects.

The exact dosage and treatment regimen depend on the stage of the disease and the individual reaction of the patient.Dose adjustment may be necessary for radiation or chemotherapy.The duration of use is determined by the treating doctor and can be several years, with increasingly longer breaks.

Side effects and precautions

Possible side effects include local inflammatory reactions at the injection site, fever, flu-like symptoms and allergic reactions.In the event of excessive reactions, the dose should be reduced or use temporarily paused.Helixor® must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to mistletoe preparations, acute inflammatory or high fever diseases, chronic granulomatous diseases, autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, under immunosuppressive treatment or in case of hyperthyroidism with palpitations.

If used with other medicines, especially immune-active substances, a doctor should be consulted.Effects on pregnancy and breastfeeding have not been sufficiently studied, so caution is advised.

Composition and storage

Each ampoule of Helixor® contains an aqueous extract of fresh mistletoe in different concentrations, corresponding to the specified amount of fresh plant.The other ingredients are sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and water for injections.Helixor® should be stored in the refrigerator, with the exception of higher concentrations (from 1 mg), which should not be stored above 30°C.The medicine must be kept out of the reach of children and must not be used after the expiry date.
