Instructions for use for Helixor A series pack IV ampoules (4x7 pieces)
The healing power of mistletoe
Mistletoe therapy is a proven method to support oncological treatment and improve quality of life in cancer patients. It can help alleviate the side effects of classic cancer therapy and strengthen the immune system. The therapy is suitable for reducing fatigue, regulating sleep and appetite and normalizing the sensation of warmth.
Mistletoe therapy is based on the special properties of white-berry mistletoe, which contains over 1,000 ingredients. This multi-layered composition actively supports the body and helps to experience more strength and quality of life. The therapy can be carried out at any time during cancer and can be used before, during and after standard therapy.
Over 150 clinical studies confirm the good tolerability of mistletoe therapy and its positive effect on the quality of life of cancer patients. The therapy can reduce side effects of conventional cancer therapies and help strengthen the immune system.
Active ingredient and composition
The active ingredient of Helixor® A SE IV is an extract from fresh pine mistletoe extract (1:20) Viscum album ssp.abietis.Water for injections and sodium chloride (99.91:0.09) are used as extractants. No prescription is required for this product.
Implementation of mistletoe therapy
Mistletoe therapy is tailored to the individual needs of the patient and requires medical supervision. The doctor checks whether the therapy is an option, selects the appropriate type of mistletoe and explains how to use it.The therapy can then be carried out independently at home.
When used for the first time, the mistletoe extract is injected under the skin (subcutaneously), ideally into a fold of skin on the stomach or thigh. The injection is usually given three times a week.Long-term use over several months is recommended, although breaks of several weeks are possible after the adjustment period.
Body reactions
The body can react to mistletoe therapy with reddened puncture sites, sometimes with swelling or itching, as well as a slight increase in body temperature (0.5 to 1 degree Celsius). These signs are harmless and show the activity of the immune system. If you have a fever over 38 degrees Celsius or severe redness, the next dose should not be injected. In case of allergic reactions, a doctor should be contacted.
Assumption of costs
In palliative situations or to mitigate severe side effects of chemotherapy, statutory health insurance companies can cover the costs of mistletoe therapy.A doctor's prescription is required for this.
