Instructions for use for Helixor A series pack IV

Helixor® A/-M/-P injection solution contains an extract of fresh mistletoe as the active ingredient in a ratio of 1:20.Depending on the variant, it is made from pine mistletoe, apple tree mistletoe or pine mistletoe.The amount of fresh plant material used for one ampoule is given in milligrams.The extractants used are water for injections and sodium chloride in a ratio of 99.91 to 0.09.

This anthroposophical medicine is used in adults to treat malignant and benign tumor diseases, including accompanying disorders of the hematopoietic organs.It can also be used to prevent relapses after tumor operations and in defined precancerous lesions.No prescription is required for this product.

Important information on application

Helixor® must not be used if you are hypersensitive to mistletoe preparations, suffer from an acute inflammatory or high fever illness, suffer from chronic granulomatous diseases or autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, or are receiving immunosuppressive treatment.If you are hypersensitive to other substances, the dosage should be taken particularly carefully.

In the case of primary brain and spinal cord tumors or intracranial metastases with a risk of increased intracranial pressure, the preparations should only be administered according to strict indications and under close clinical control.The ampoule should be briefly warmed in your hand before the injection.

If other immune-active drugs are used promptly, Helixor® should only be used after consulting a doctor.Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or using other medicines.

Effects of Helixor® on pregnancy, development of the unborn child, birth and development of the child after birth have not been studied.Caution is advised when used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Application of Helixor® A/M/P

Always use Helixor® exactly as your doctor has told you.The injection is carried out subcutaneously, if possible near the tumor or metastasis or at different locations on the intact skin.Do not inject into inflamed skin areas or radiation areas.It is recommended not to draw Helixor® in a syringe with other medicines.

The usual dose is one subcutaneous injection 2-3 times weekly.Therapy begins with an induction phase in which the dose is gradually increased.The optimal dose must be determined individually based on responses such as subjective well-being, temperature response, immunological response and local inflammatory response at the injection site.

A reduction in dose may be necessary during radiation or chemotherapy.In the maintenance phase, treatment continues at the determined optimal individual dose, with rhythmic use recommended to avoid habituation effects.

Side effects

A slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site and temporary slight swelling of regional lymph nodes are harmless.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength or dose.

Local or general allergic or allergy-like reactions may occur, requiring discontinuation of the preparation and immediate medical attention.Activation of pre-existing inflammation and inflammatory irritation of superficial veins in the injection area are possible.

Storage

Keep Helixor® out of the reach of children and do not use the medicine after the expiry date.The ampoules should be stored in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.Helixor® 0.01 mg - 0.1 mg should be stored in a refrigerator, while Helixor® 1 mg - 100 mg should not be stored above 30 °C.
