Instructions for use for Helixor M series pack I

Helixor M is an anthroposophic medicine that is used to treat tumor diseases.It contains an extract of fresh apple tree mistletoe (Viscum album ssp. album) in a ratio of 1:20.The solution for injection is made with water for injections and sodium chloride.

Areas of application according to the anthroposophical knowledge of man and nature include malignant and benign tumor diseases, malignant diseases of the hematopoietic organs, defined precancerous lesions and the prevention of relapses after tumor operations.

Active ingredients and composition

Helixor M contains aqueous extract from fresh apple mistletoe herb, corresponding to 1 mg, 5 mg or 10 mg of fresh plant per ampoule.Other ingredients include sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and water for injections.

Application and dosage

Helixor M is administered by subcutaneous injection, if possible close to the tumor or metastases.The usual dosage is 2-3 injections per week.Therapy begins with a low dose, which is gradually increased until the optimal individual dose is reached.

The optimal dose is determined based on various reactions, such as changes in subjective well-being, temperature reactions, immunological reactions and local inflammatory reactions at the injection site.In the event of an overdose, excessive inflammatory reactions may occur, which can be treated with moist cool compresses or anti-inflammatory ointments.

Side effects and precautions

Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, and temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes.If there is a fever over 38 °C or major local reactions over 5 cm in diameter, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and in a reduced dose.

Helixor M must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to mistletoe preparations, acute inflammatory or highly febrile diseases, chronic granulomatous diseases and autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, hyperthyroidism with palpitations, as well as primary brain and spinal cord tumors or intracranial metastases with the risk of increased intracranial pressure.

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on each ampoule and box.Store the ampoules in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.Store in the refrigerator.
