Infectodell solution against molluscum warts is a product with 5% potassium hydroxide that is used externally to treat molluscum warts (Molluscum contagiosum, a virus-related skin disease).The product leads to the dissolution of virus-infected cells and thus to a defensive reaction in the skin in the area of the wart.The aim of treatment is a small, painless inflammation.As soon as this heals, the wart also heals.Please note: Infectodell is not suitable for treating common warts (verrucae).If you are not sure whether you or your child suffers from mollusc warts or common warts, you should ask your doctor before using Infectodell.

Area of application

1 ml Infectodell contains 50 mg potassium hydroxide.Other ingredients include purified water.1 pack contains 2 ml of solution for application to the skin.The cap is equipped with a plastic spatula for applying the solution.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used near the eyes, on already inflamed warts, on mucous membranes (oral or genital area), open wounds or scratched skin, for the treatment of common warts, age-related warts, birthmarks as well as corns and other skin calluses, in infants and small children under 2 years of age, if there is a known tendency to excessive scar formation (hypertrophic scars, keloids) and in people with congenital or acquired immune deficiency (e.g. HIV-Infection or treatment with medications that suppress the immune system), as there is currently no sufficient experience with this.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly according to the instructions in the package leaflet.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Apply a small amount of solution precisely to the warts twice a day with a spatula and allow the solution to dry.The special spatula ensures that only a very small but sufficient amount of solution is applied.This protects the healthy skin around the wart.

Stop use as soon as inflammation indicates that a wart has healed.You can recognize the inflammation by redness that lasts at least 12 hours.Stop using it after 14 days at the latest, even if no inflammation has occurred.In this case, ask your doctor.This will decide how to proceed.

The inflammation indicates that your body is fighting the warts.Now be patient and wait for the warts to heal.This medicine may no longer be used on inflamed warts.

Intake

Write down the date of first use on the box.The product has a shelf life of four weeks after first opening.Ensure very good lighting for every application.Always place the product on a firm and level surface out of the reach of children.Open the child-resistant lock (press and turn to the left at the same time).

Dab all of the warts with the flat side of the spatula and allow the solution to dry.After every 1 - 3 warts, you should wet the spatula again.If no droplet (grain of sand) is visible on the wart, please wet the spatula again and dab the wart again.After use, screw the cap back on with the spatula.Always store the medicine tightly closed and out of the reach of children.

Apply the preparation to the warts twice a day, preferably in the morning and evening, as described in the previous steps.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it if there are molluscs on the breast during breastfeeding.Avoid contact of the infant with the treated skin. In patients with atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), the preparation should not be used in the acute stage of atopic eczema, but only after appropriate medical pretreatment.

Pregnancy

Avoid contact of the infant with the treated skin.
