Braunoderm is a solution that serves as an alcohol-based skin disinfectant.It is used to disinfect the skin before surgical procedures, injections, punctures, catheterizations, blood sampling and vaccinations.No prescription is required for this product.

Read all of this leaflet carefully as it contains important information.This medicine is available without a prescription.In order to achieve the best possible treatment success, Braunoderm should be used as directed.

Braunoderm is an alcoholic skin disinfectant used to disinfect the skin before various medical procedures.

2. WAS MÜSSEN SIE VOR DER ANWENDUNG VON BRAUNODERM NOTE?

Braunoderm must not be used in patients with hyperthyroidism, certain skin diseases, during or after radioiodine therapy and in cases of hypersensitivity to iodine, 2-propanol or other components of the product.

Particular caution is required to avoid skin irritation.Braunoderm is irritating to the eyes and mucous membranes and must not be applied to the eyes or to injured skin.It is flammable and should be kept away from sources of ignition.

Braunoderm can influence diagnostic examinations and should not be used simultaneously with disinfectants containing mercury or silver.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as in children and the elderly, Braunoderm should only be used on the express instructions of a doctor.

3. WIE IST BRAUNODERM TO APPLY?

Braunoderm should be used exactly as directed by your doctor.The skin is kept moist with the undiluted preparation and allowed to dry after the prescribed exposure time.The exposure times vary depending on skin type and type of procedure.

In the event of accidental overdose, excess product should be blotted and the skin allowed to air dry.If accidentally ingested, symptoms of poisoning are possible and medical advice should be sought immediately.

4. WELCHE NEBENWIRKUNGEN SIND POSSIBLE?

Braunoderm can cause side effects such as skin irritation, hypersensitivity reactions and acute immune system reactions.If such side effects occur, use should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Disinfectants containing alcohol can dry out the skin and cause skin irritation.In such cases, it is recommended to use skin care creams.

5. WIE IST BRAUNODERM TO KEEP?

Braunoderm should be kept out of the reach of children and not used beyond the expiry date stated on the label.It can be used for 12 months after opening the container.The medicine should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.

6. WEITERE INFORMATIONEN

Braunoderm contains the active ingredients 2-propanol and povidone-iodine.It is a clear, brown, alcoholic smelling solution for use on the skin.
