Linola cream is a medicine used for the symptomatic treatment of mild forms of acute and subacute contact eczema. It contains the active ingredient unsaturated fatty acids. The cream is applied to the affected skin area and should be used several times a day if necessary, usually twice a day. The duration of application depends on the type of symptoms and/or the course of the disease and should be agreed with a doctor. Side effects may include hypersensitivity to the medicine and skin irritation such as burning, redness or a burning sensation for a short time. The medicine must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to unsaturated fatty acids or any of the other ingredients. During pregnancy, Linola should be used carefully and during breast-feeding, application to the breast area should be avoided in order not to absorb cream components with the breast milk. The medicine should be stored away from heat and used within 3 months after opening. It is available over the counter, but you should consult your doctor or pharmacist if you need further information or advice.
