Instructions for use for Oak bark tea Aurica (100 g)

Instructions for use of Aurica oak bark tea

No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Aurica oak bark tea is used internally for non-specific, acute diarrheal illnesses as well as for mild inflammation of the mouth and throat area.Externally, it promotes the formation of scabs in inflammatory skin diseases.

Composition

The medicinally active ingredient of Aurica oak bark tea is oak bark. The dried and crushed pieces of oak bark contain tannins, which have an astringent effect and promote scab formation.

Mode of action

The ingredients of the oak bark act as a natural mixture. The oak is a tree with a powerful, highly branched crown and gnarled appearance. Its leaves are wavy and narrow towards the stem. The oak occurs worldwide, especially in Europe and Asia Minor. The main ingredients in oak bark are tannins. These act against bacteria and viruses, contract the diseased tissue, dry it out and accelerate the healing process. They also work against diarrhea.

Dosage instructions and method of application

If you have diarrhea, it is recommended to drink a cup of the tea infusion prepared as follows 2 to 3 times a day: Pour approx. 150 ml of water over 1/2 teaspoon (approx. 1.5 g) of oak bark tea, heat to boiling for approx. 10 to 15 minutes and then strain through a tea strainer. For rinsing, gargling and preparing poultices, an infusion is prepared in the specified amount or the required multiple as follows: pour approx. 100 ml of water over 2 g of oak bark, heat to boiling for around 10 to 15 minutes and then strain through a tea strainer. To prepare full and partial baths, add 5 g of oak bark to 1 l of water or a multiple thereof.

Contraindications

There are no known contraindications for internal use.External use should be avoided if there is extensive skin damage.Full baths should not be used for weeping, extensive eczema and skin injuries, febrile and infectious diseases, heart failure stages III and IV (NYHA), high blood pressure stage IV (WHO).There are no sufficient studies on the use of oak bark during pregnancy and breastfeeding or in children under 12 years of age.Preparations made from oak bark must therefore not be used by this group of people.

Interactions with other agents

Drinking oak bark tea can delay the intestinal absorption of other medications taken at the same time.A gap of 1/2 to 1 hour should therefore be maintained before and after taking medication. When used externally, there are no known interactions with other products.

Side effects

So far there are no known side effects. If you still notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Notes

In cases of diarrhea, replacement of fluids and salts (electrolytes) is the most important therapeutic measure. If diarrhea lasts longer than 2 days or is accompanied by blood or an increase in temperature, a doctor should be consulted.Diarrhea in infants and small children generally requires consultation with a doctor. If the symptoms of mild inflammation of the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat last longer than 1 week, recur or if unclear symptoms occur, you should consult a doctor. If the edges of the wound are severely reddened, or if the wounds have large areas of weeping or purulent infection, you should consult a doctor.

Storage

The medicine must be protected from moisture and stored in the dark.
