Medyn® forte capsules are a vitamin preparation that is used for a proven, combined deficiency of vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid that cannot be compensated for through diet.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Medyn® forte capsules are used for a proven, combined deficiency of vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid that cannot be remedied through diet.This supplement is designed to relieve the symptoms of fatigue caused by this vitamin deficiency.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each Medyn® forte hard capsule contains the following active ingredients: 0.49 mg cobalamin (vitamin B12) in the form of cyanocobalamin 20.75 mg pyridoxine (vitamin B6) in the form of pyridoxine hydrochloride 2.5 mg folic acid The preparation also contains the following other ingredients: maltodextrin, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate 2-water, microcrystalline cellulose, highly disperse silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, iron(III)oxide, sodium dodecyl sulfate, purified water and gelatin.

Contraindications

Medyn® forte capsules should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.In addition, the preparation is not suitable for megaloblastic anemia caused by an isolated vitamin B12 deficiency or for isolated folic acid deficiency.

Dosage and intake

The recommended dose is one hard capsule daily.The duration of use depends on the type and severity of the vitamin deficiency.It is recommended that you consult your doctor about this.

Patient information

With long-term intake of daily doses of more than 50 mg of vitamin B6 and with short-term intake of doses in the gram range, tingling and pins and needles can occur on the hands and feet.These symptoms may be signs of peripheral sensory neuropathy or paraesthesias.If you observe such symptoms, please contact your doctor, who will check the amount you are taking and, if necessary, stop the medication.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, your daily vitamin requirements should, if possible, be covered by a balanced diet.Medyn® forte capsules are only intended to treat vitamin deficiency and should therefore only be used after careful risk-benefit assessment by the doctor.There are no systematic studies on the use of the product during pregnancy.Vitamin B6 and B12 are excreted in breast milk.
