China oil is a traditional herbal medicine used to relieve the discomfort of coughs and colds, to relieve muscle pain and to relieve mild gastrointestinal complaints such as flatulence. It contains peppermint oil as the active ingredient. It can be used externally on the skin as well as for inhalation and internal use. External use may cause hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash or eye irritation. When inhaled, there is a risk of respiratory paralysis or bronchial and laryngeal spasms, especially in hypersensitive individuals. When used internally, side effects such as menthol odour in urine and stool, pain during urination or allergic reactions may occur. The dosage and instructions for use vary depending on the area of application and age group. The duration of use should not exceed two weeks. In case of overdose, you should consult a doctor immediately. Children under 12 years of age should not use China oil. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are also not recommended to take it.
