Description

Uro-Tainer M NaCl 0.9% from B. Braun is a sterile and endotoxin-free solution used to care for transurethral and suprapubic catheters.The product is equipped with an injection port.The solution consists of sodium chloride at a concentration of 0.9 grams per 100 milliliters.

Uro-Tainer M NaCl 0.9% is used for the intravesical instillation of various drugs such as antibiotics, disinfectants, cytostatics, antimycotics and corticosteroids in a closed system via an indwelling urethral catheter or disposable catheter.It is a ready-to-use, disposable system consisting of an PVC-bag in a protective plastic sleeve containing 50 milliliters or 100 milliliters of sterile solution, a separate port for adding medication, a flexible tube with a clamp and a sterile universal connector.The universal connector is protected by a rigid plastic cap with a safety seal.

Dosage

The solution is used as needed.

Important information

This solution is intended exclusively for rinsing urethral catheters and is not suitable for intravenous infusion.The solution should be instilled using gravity and not administered forcefully.

In patients with spinal cord injuries, special precautions should be taken during bladder irrigation due to the risk of autonomic dysreflexion.The product should only be used under strict aseptic conditions.Disinfection of the injection port is recommended prior to use.

When adding medication, the manufacturer's instructions must be followed and compatibility with NaCl 0.9% must be ensured.When adding cytostatics, it is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding special precautions, preparation and administration.

The product may only be used if the contents and cap are intact and the solution is clear.The system is intended for single use and must be used quickly after opening.Open bags and remaining solution must be discarded.

Reuse of single-use devices poses a potential risk to the patient or user. It may result in contamination and/or impairment of functionality.Contamination and/or reduced functionality of the device may result in patient injury, illness or death.

DEHP was shown to be potentially toxic to reproduction in animal experiments.Based on the current state of science, a risk (from long-term use), particularly for premature male babies, cannot be completely ruled out.As a precaution, medical products containing DEHPshould only be used for short periods in pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants and children.

No prescription is required for this product.The product should be kept out of the reach of children.After use, it must be disposed of properly.

Side effects

There are no known side effects of this solution.If the fluid comes out of the urethra during the flushing process, the catheter may no longer be in the bladder and the patient may need a new catheter.If the fluid is not flowing, the catheter may be kinked or blocked in the bladder and needs to be replaced.

Expiry date

The solution must not be used after the expiry date stated on the back of the sachet.

Storage

The solution should be stored in the original packaging, protected from light, at a temperature below 25°C.
