Widmer Carbamide Cream 12% Urea

Widmer Carbamide Cream is a local skin medication.No prescription is required for this product.It is used for excessive hardening of the skin, milder forms of fish scale disease (ichthyosis) and for the long-term treatment of this disease.It is also suitable for keratinization of the hair-forming cells and for dry, brittle, red skin.

Skin keratinization disorders can be hereditary or arise from daily activities such as work or sport.Very dry, rough body skin is particularly sensitive and prone to irritation.Hard skin on the hands and feet can be stressful and painful.Even rough elbows and knees can often only be inadequately treated with conventional cosmetic products.

Effect of Widmer Carbamide Cream

The cream contains urea as the main active ingredient, which causes the softening and flaking of excessively hardened skin.The soft, pleasant cream base replaces the dry, chapped skin's lack of moisture and sebum.Regular care with the cream makes the skin soft and supple again.Urea has a hydrating, keratoplastic and anti-proliferation effect.The fatty W/O base ensures an optimal supply of fat to the skin areas to be treated.With urea in W/O emulsions, the active ingredient is released more slowly, but the urea penetrates far more deeply into the depth of the stratum corneum, into the epidermis and dermis than with O/W emulsions.

Application

The recommended dose, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, is to apply to the affected skin areas 1-2 times a day and rub in gently.The duration of treatment depends on the clinical findings and must be determined individually by your doctor.

Contraindications

The cream must not be used if you are allergic to urea, propylene glycol or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.It should not be applied to abraded or acutely inflamed skin and should not be used over large areas if the kidneys are not functioning properly.

1 g of cream contains 120 mg of urea.Other ingredients are: retinol palmitate, dexpanthenol, POE-(1)-glycerin sorbitan isostearate, polyoxyethylene-(30)-sorbitol, white petroleum jelly, hard paraffin, cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone, thin paraffin, mineral wax, hydrogenated castor oil, glyceryl isostearate,Polyglyceryl-3-oleate, decyl oleate, dibutyl adipate, isopropyl myristate (Ph.Eur.), propylene glycol, butane-1,3-diol, sorbitol (Ph.Eur.), citric acid, all-rac-alpha tocopherol acetate, butylhydroxyanisole (Ph.Eur.), butylhydroxytoluene (Ph.Eur.), phenoxyethanol (Ph.Eur.),Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, purified water.

Patient information

The duration of use depends on the course of the disease and is determined by the doctor.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.

Notes

The cream contains butylated hydroxyanisole, butylated hydroxytoluene and propylene glycol.The mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and mouth must not come into contact with the cream.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.
