Cod liver oil Caelo: Ready-made medicine for the prevention of rickets and vitamin deficiency during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Cod liver oil Caelo is a light yellow oil extracted from the liver of cod, cod, native shark species and haddock.It consists mainly of fat and contains natural ingredients that can prevent vitamin D deficiency, especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Ingredients

Active ingredient per 1 g oil: 1 g cod liver oil, which contains at least 850 IU retinol (vitamin A) and at least 85 IU colecalciferol (vitamin D).Other components are not present.

Areas of application

Cod liver oil Caelo is used to prevent rickets and to treat vitamin deficiencies during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if there is an increased calcium plasma level, increased calcium excretion via the kidneys or if other medicines containing vitamin D are administered.

Application

If necessary, infants can take 1 teaspoon (5 ml), small children 1 to 2 teaspoons (5 - 10 ml) and adolescents and adults up to 1 tablespoon (20 ml) of cod liver oil daily, unless otherwise prescribed.

Side effects

If the specified dosage is adhered to, no side effects are to be expected.No prescription is required for this product.

Notes

When taking large amounts of cod liver oil (more than 5 tablespoons daily), signs of vitamin A overdose such as headaches, nausea, vomiting, sleep disorders, loss of appetite, joint pain and fissures in the oral mucosa may occur.During the first three months of pregnancy, taking more than one tablespoon of cod liver oil daily should be avoided.

The product should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

Cod liver oil Caelo should be tightly closed and not stored above 25°C.Opened bottles should be used within 4 weeks.Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.
