Directions for use of the article Alepafort Hard Capsules Important information (obligatory data): Alepafort hard capsules. Indications: For the supportive treatment of chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage (caused by liver toxins). The medicinal product is not intended for the treatment of acute poisoning. For risks and side effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist. Product characteristics: What is Alepafort and what is it used for? Alepafort Hard Capsules is a herbal medicinal product for liver diseases. For the supportive treatment of chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic (caused by liver toxins) liver damage. The medicine is not intended for the treatment of acute poisoning. How is Alepafort used? The following information applies unless your doctor has told you otherwise. Please follow the dosage instructions, otherwise Alepafort Hard Capsules may not work properly! Dosage: Adults take 1 hard capsule of Alepafort Hard Capsules 3 times a day. Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not intended. Method of administration: Please take 1 hard capsule unchewed with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water [200 ml]) in the morning, at noon and in the evening before meals. The medicine should not be taken while lying down. Duration of use: The attending doctor decides on the duration of use. If the symptoms persist despite taking Alepafort Hard Capsules, the doctor should be consulted. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Alepafort Hard Capsules is too strong or too weak. How should Alepafort be stored? Do not use this medicine after the expiry date (date after "use by") which is stated on the carton and the container (blister). Keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from moisture. What Alepafort contains 1 hard capsule contains as active substance: 177.4 - 240.4 mg dry extract of milk thistle fruit corresponding to 108.2 mg silymarin, calculated as silibinin (HPLC), extraction agent: acetone 95 % (V/V). Other ingredients: Mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (vegetable), gelatine, purified water, sodium dodecyl sulphate, colouring agents: titanium dioxide E 171, ferric hydroxide oxide x H2O E 172.
