Information for use with the article Ambroxol Inhalat Inhalation Solution: - Active substance: ambroxol hydrochloride. - Indications: For the expectorant treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs with thick mucus. - For risks and side-effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist! Important information: - Ambroxol Inhalat is a medicine for loosening mucus in respiratory diseases with thick mucus (expectorant). - Particular caution is required when using Ambroxol Inhalat in patients with known hypersensitivity of the bronchial system and/or known tendency to allergies. - Caution is advised in patients with histamine intolerance. - Patients with impaired renal and hepatic function should only use Ambroxol Inhalate with particular caution. - Ambroxol Inhalate should be used in children under 2 years of age only as directed by a doctor. Dosage and directions for use: - Infants under 2 years: 1/2 inhalation ampoule 1-2 times daily spread throughout the day. - Children aged 2-6 years: 1 inhalation ampoule 1-2 times a day, spread throughout the day. - Children over 6 years and adults: 1-1 1/2 inhalation ampoules 1-2 times a day spread over the day - Adults: 4 inhalation ampoules 2 times a day spread over the day - The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. - The medicine should be inhaled, preferably with an appropriate device (e.g. nebuliser). Duration of use: - The medicine should not be used for more than 4-5 days without medical advice. Overdose: - In case of overdose, restlessness, vomiting, diarrhoea and drop in blood pressure may occur. If overdose is suspected, a doctor should be contacted. Further information: - The medicinal product is intended for inhalation. - Ambroxol Inhalate is available in single-dose containers which should not be stored after opening. - The medicinal product should be stored protected from light at below 25°C. - If any side effects occur or if you have any questions about the use of the medicinal product, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.
