Description

Zymaflour D 1000 contains both vitamin D3 and sodium fluoride.Vitamin D supports our bone health, muscle strength and immune system, and fluoride is very important for caries prevention, especially in infants and small children.Zymaflour D 1000 is therefore ideal for the prevention of rickets and tooth decay, especially in premature babies.

Area of application

The preparation is a preventive agent against tooth decay and rickets.It is used for the preventive treatment of tooth decay and rickets in premature babies.

1 Tablet of Zymaflour D 1000 contains 25 µg colecalciferol (corresponding to 1000 IU vitamin D3) and 0.553 mg sodium fluoride (corresponding to 0.25 mg fluoride).Other ingredients are lactose 1 H2O, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, gelatin, sucrose, corn starch, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, saccharin sodium 2 H2O, flavoring vanillin, yellow iron oxide (E172), soybean oil and DL-a-tocopherol.

Contraindications

The preparation must not be given if there is hypersensitivity (allergy) to sodium fluoride, colecalciferol, soy, peanut or any of the other components of the preparation, if the calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) or in the urine (hypercalciuria) is increased, if mobility is restricted (e.g. due to a plaster cast) or if fluoride is supplied in another way, e.g.B. with drinking, mineral or table water.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Premature babies receive 1 tablet daily for preventive treatment.

To ensure that only a systemic form of fluoride intake is used, the pediatrician or dentist should take into account the intake of fluoridated table salt, fluoride tablets (including the daily dose), fluoride-rich mineral water and the fluoride content of the drinking water when recommending the dosage.

The following dosage schedule gives guidelines for supplementary fluoride intake.If the fluoride concentration in drinking water/mineral water is more than 0.7 mg/l, additional administration of fluoride tablets is not necessary.

Unless otherwise prescribed, the following dosage must be adhered to regularly, 1 tablet or lozenge daily of the appropriate strength:

Age (years): 0 to < 3, fluoride concentration in drinking water / mineral water (mg/l): < 0.3, fluoride (mg/day): 0.25

Age (years): 3 to < 6, fluoride concentration in drinking water / mineral water (mg/l): < 0.3, fluoride (mg/day): 0.5

Age (years): 3 to < 6, fluoride concentration in drinking water / mineral water (mg/l): 0.3 - 0.7, fluoride (mg/day): 0.25

Age (years): from 6, fluoride concentration in drinking water / mineral water (mg/l): < 0.3, fluoride (mg/day): 1

Age (years): from 6, fluoride concentration in drinking water / mineral water (mg/l): 0.3 - 0.7, fluoride (mg/day): 0.5

The doctor decides how long the treatment will last.If insufficient amounts of fluoride and vitamin D are consumed from food over the long term, the medicine should be taken until the end of the second year of life.

Intake

Dissolve 1 tablet in a teaspoon of liquid.It is then best to administer it directly into the mouth.To prevent undesirable complications such as accidentally “swallowing” the tablet into the airways, the tablet should never be administered undissolved!

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking it in premature and malborn infants, who should only start caries prevention through systemic fluoride intake after reaching a body weight of 3000 g and with normal physical development.If infants are fed with balanced diets or if their bottle feed is made with drinking or mineral water that contains more than 0.3 mg/l fluoride or if the artificial baby milk is sufficiently enriched with vitamin D, the administration of the drug is not recommended.(This restriction does not apply to children who are exclusively breastfed.)

The administration of fluoride tablets is not necessary for children who are on a balanced diet because of a congenital metabolic disorder.In the case of severe, long-term illnesses that impair growth, your doctor should consider whether the medicine can be given.If systemic fluoride is administered, toothpastes containing fluoride should not be used in children under 3 years of age.

Other

If the water used to prepare the infant or toddler's food (drinking, mineral or table water) contains more than 0.3 mg fluoride per liter, additional fluoride intake is not necessary.Do not give additional fluoride (tablets or salt) while taking the medication.Do not use toothpaste containing fluoride when taking the medication.
