Our skin is exposed to many challenges every day.It protects us from cold, heat, UV-radiation, bacteria and viruses and repels shocks or scratches.The mucous membranes also play an important role in the immune reaction.Small wounds on the skin and mucous membranes, inflammation and irritation, cracks, scratches or blisters, dry mouth, an irritated mouth and throat, sore throats, inflammation of the gums, bleeding gums, for example due to hard toothbrushes, braces or dentures, through to thermal damage or poor oral hygiene, are unpleasant, painful and the healing process is usually lengthy for each of us.The unique combination of medicinal plant extracts of real chamomile and yarrow, which is only contained in Kamillan® Pharma Wernigerode, can offer quick help and effective support for regeneration and wound healing.

Real chamomile

Real chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) has a long tradition as a medicinal plant for internal and external use.Other types of chamomile have fewer or no healing ingredients.The base of the inflorescence of the real chamomile is the only one that is hollow.The flowers of real chamomile contain a lot of essential oils, flavonoids, coumarins and bitter substances.Real chamomile actively supports wound healing and at the same time has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.

Yarrow

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is another traditional medicinal plant.The herb is made from stems, leaves and flowers.It contains flavonoids, salicylic acid, coumarins, the bitter substance achillin and tannins.These also have a hemostatic, sealing and wound-contracting effect.At the same time, yarrow combines anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.Micro-tears and small injuries to the skin and oral mucosa can be closed, healing processes supported and bleeding stopped.

Areas of application

Kamillan® can be used for various complaints.In the case of canker sores, gum inflammation or irritation caused by dentures or braces, regular mouthwashes have an anti-inflammatory effect and can strengthen the oral mucosa and gums and support natural wound healing.Cracked and stressed skin after intensive housework and gardening or after hiking and sport can be soothed with compresses and partial baths with Kamillan®.In the case of non-specific gastrointestinal complaints, Kamillan® can help to regenerate the irritated mucous membrane.At the first scratch in the throat, dry throat or inflammatory diseases or irritation of the respiratory tract, you should react early during the cold season, but also when you have to talk a lot.Gargling several times a day can soothe irritated mucous membranes and prevent infections.

Kamillan® contains:

Mixture of chamomile flowers, yarrow herb, extract: ethanol 96%, drinking water, ammonia solution 10%, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate.

Contraindications

This product should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, or if you have liver disease, alcoholics, epileptics, brain damage or children under 12 years of age.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using this product.

Dosage

Recommended use of Kamillan®:

Kamillan® can be used as a first aid for numerous complaints and can be applied internally and externally.Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, adults can use Kamillan® as follows:

Neck and throat: Add 5 ml of Kamillan® to 1 glass of lukewarm water and gargle with the diluted solution morning and evening.If possible, avoid rinsing the oral cavity afterwards.

Oral mucosa: Prepare a mouthwash similar to the gargle solution and rinse the mouth several times a day.Alternatively, a few drops of Kamillan® diluted with water can be applied several times a day using a cotton swab or dental brush.

Stressed, sensitive skin: For a hand, foot or sitz bath, add 7.5 - 15 ml of Kamillan® to 1 liter of warm water.Carry out the partial bath for damaged skin on the hands and feet or for wounds and injuries in the genital area for approx. 10 to 20 minutes.

Gastrointestinal complaints: Add 2.5 to 5 ml of Kamillan® to a small glass of tea or water 1 to 3 times a day and drink completely.

Always take/use this medicine exactly as described in the instructions for use or exactly as discussed with your doctor or pharmacist.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking/using the preparation.If signs of illness occur, such as complaints of the gastrointestinal tract that last for a long time or recur periodically, as well as inflammation or open injuries to the skin or mucous membranes, a doctor should be consulted.If you do not feel better after 5 days or if you feel worse, contact your doctor.If there is a change in the appearance of the skin or mucous membranes (redness, swelling or pain) or in the general condition, a doctor should also be consulted.You should avoid additional alcohol consumption while using the product internally.

For children under 12 years of age, the preparation should not be used externally or on the mucous membrane as there are no sufficient studies available.The preparation should not be taken by children and adolescents under 18 years of age as there is no sufficient data for internal use.

There are no studies on the ability to drive or use machines.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been adequately studied.It is not recommended to be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Notes

This product contains 50% alcohol by volume.Kamillan® is lactose and gluten free.Kamillan® must not be used internally in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.No prescription is required for this product.
