Directions for use of the article Saline 0.9% Ecoflac Plus Isotonic saline 0.9% Braun infusion solution is used to replace fluid and salt deficiencies or to raise the pH and lower the chloride level. It is also used for short-term replenishment of the vascular system, as a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates and medicines, as well as for wound treatment and moistening of cloths and dressings. This solution contains sodium chloride and is administered via a venous drip. It is important to infuse the solution slowly to avoid a rise in salinity, especially sodium levels. Dosage is based on fluid and electrolyte requirements. Overdosage may lead to increased sodium and chloride levels in the blood, overhydration and increased acidity.
