Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 is a medicine for the prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency when adequate intake through the diet is not ensured.The human body can only absorb and store vitamin C to a limited extent.It therefore makes sense to supply the body with vitamin C in small portions throughout the day, as Cetebe® ZEITPERLEN® vitamin C does.The human body cannot produce vitamin C itself, so the vital nutrient must be consumed regularly and in sufficient quantities through food.

The patented Cetebe® ZEITPERLEN® supplies the body with vitamin C in small portions throughout the day, so the body can optimally process and store the vitamin.The vitamin capsules can prevent and treat vitamin C deficiency if adequate intake through diet is not ensured.The vitamin capsules contain high doses of vitamin C, which can be taken to compensate for increased vitamin requirements in the body, such as:B. during sporting activities.

Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 is an over-the-counter medicine.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 is suitable for a continuous supply of vitamin C over several hours, especially for the treatment of vitamin C deficiency diseases.

The following groups of people may be at increased risk of vitamin C deficiency: seniors over 65 years of age, smokers, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with an unbalanced diet and people with acute infectious diseases.

One capsule of Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 contains 500 mg of vitamin C. The ingredients are: sucrose, corn starch, stearic acid, shellac, talc, tartaric acid, color riboflavin (E 101), sodium dodecyl sulfate, gelatin.

Dosage

For vitamin C deficiency, adults take 500-1000 mg of ascorbic acid per day until symptoms subside.This corresponds to 1-2 hard capsules of Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 per day.Please take the hard capsules whole with sufficient liquid.

Children and adolescents under 13 need less vitamin C than adults.Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 is therefore not suitable for them.Your doctor will decide whether to take Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 for young people aged 13 and over.

Intake

Please take the hard capsules whole with sufficient liquid.

Notes

Cetebe® Vitamin C Retard 500 contains sucrose (sugar).Note for people with diabetes: 1 prolonged-release capsule contains 0.004 BE.

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to ascorbic acid (vitamin C) or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.In the case of kidney stones made from oxalate and certain diseases in which too much iron is stored in the body (thalassemia, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia), you should only take the medicine after consulting your doctor.

Patient information

Particular caution when taking the drug is required in patients with a tendency to kidney stone formation.When taking high doses of vitamin C (2000 - 3000 mg/day) there is a risk of calcium oxalate stones forming.Please consult your doctor about this.In people with healthy kidneys, an oral dose of up to 5000 mg/day is considered safe.

When taking high doses (> 4000 mg/day) of vitamin C, severe hemolysis was observed in individual cases in patients with erythrocytic glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (a very rare metabolic disease).Exceeding the specified dosage recommendation should therefore be avoided.Please consult your doctor about this.

There are no known impairments to the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

The specified application quantities should not be exceeded during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
