Information for use with the article Neurobion N Forte Coated Tablets: Neurobion N forte Coated Tablets contain the active substances thiamine disulphide (vitamin B1) and pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6). They are used to treat neurological disorders caused by a deficiency of these vitamins. It is important to note that Neurobion N forte must not be taken if you are allergic to thiamine disulphide (vitamin B1), pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) or other components of the medicine. In addition, children and adolescents under 18 years of age must not take this medicine. It is recommended not to take Neurobion N forte for longer than six months, as high doses of vitamin B6 can lead to nerve damage. If new symptoms occur, stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor. It is important to inform your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines you are taking, as vitamin doses can influence the effect of other medicines. During pregnancy and breast-feeding, Neurobion N forte should only be taken after consulting a doctor. The recommended dosage for adults is one tablet once a day. The tablets should be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid with or after meals. Taking the tablets for more than four weeks should be discussed with a doctor. Possible side effects are hypersensitivity reactions such as sweating, palpitations and skin reactions after taking thiamine (vitamin B1). Furthermore, gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort may occur. Neurobion N forte should be stored at room temperature (maximum 25°C) and out of the reach of children. The expiry date is stated on the pack. The pack contains 20, 50 or 100 coated tablets.
