Instructions for use for Neurobion N forte coated tablets, 100 pcs

Area of application

This medicine is a vitamin B1 and B6 preparation used in neurological systemic diseases caused by a proven deficiency of these vitamins.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The coated tablets contain the active ingredients pyridoxine hydrochloride and thiamine disulfide. One tablet contains 100 mg pyridoxine hydrochloride, which corresponds to 82.27 mg pyridoxine, and 100 mg thiamine disulfide, which corresponds to 94.3 mg thiamine. In addition, the preparation contains various excipients such as calcium carbonate, Eudragit E 100, glycerol 85%, hypromellose, lactose 1-water, magnesium oxide, magnesium stearate, corn starch, methyl cellulose, montan glycol wax, povidone K25, sucrose, silicon dioxide, talc, titanium dioxide and clay, white.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to thiamine disulfide (vitamin B1), pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Due to the high active ingredient content, the preparation must not be taken by children and adolescents under the age of 18.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. The recommended dose for adults is one coated tablet once daily. If there is a manifest, proven deficiency, the dose can be increased to up to one coated tablet 3 times a day after consulting your doctor.

After 4 weeks at the latest, your treating doctor should decide whether administration of vitamin B6 and vitamin B1 in the high concentration present is still necessary. If necessary, your doctor may switch you to a lower strength product to reduce the risk of neuropathy associated with vitamin B6.

If you have taken more than you should, long-term use of vitamin B6 in doses above 50 mg/day and short-term use in doses above 1g/day can cause nerve damage. An overdose is mainly manifested by abnormal sensations such as tingling or pins and needles on the hands and feet, possibly with movement disorders.Extremely high doses can result in convulsions. If physical symptoms occur, you should consult a doctor.

Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.Continue taking as described in the dosage instructions. For successful treatment, it is important that you take the medicine for the entire period recommended by your doctor.

If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Intake

The coated tablets are intended to be taken orally.Take the tablets whole with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water, with or after meals.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.Even in daily doses of 50 mg or more over a long period of time, vitamin B6 can cause nerve damage, which can manifest itself in signs such as tingling and pins and needles in the hands and feet.If you observe such symptoms, please contact your doctor.

The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. There are no sufficient study data on pregnant women who were treated with high doses of vitamin B1 or B6.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, use should only be decided by your doctor after careful risk/benefit assessment.
