Information for use of the article OLEUM ZINCI OXID C NYST SR: OLEUM ZINCI OXID C NYST SR is a medicinal product used for the treatment of skin infections with germs sensitive to nystatin. It contains the active substance nystatin in a concentration of 70,000 IE per 1 g suspension and zinc oxide in a concentration of 0.49 g per 1 g suspension. The medicine is applied to the affected skin areas several times a day and covered with gauze if necessary. The duration of application is 2 weeks and should be continued for 8-10 days after the symptoms have subsided. Side effects may include a slight burning sensation on the skin as well as redness, a feeling of tightness, signs of dehydration and rough skin. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid extensive application to the breast. People who are hypersensitive (allergic) to zinc oxide, nystatin, peanut or soya should not use the medicine. There should also be no residues containing zinc oxide left before the application of other dermatics, as their effect may be impaired. The medicinal product should be stored away from light at room temperature (not above 25 °C) and used within 4 weeks of opening. It contains peanut oil, so it should be used with caution by people with allergies to peanuts and soya. Before using the medicine, read the package leaflet and consult a doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. Indications: - Fungal infections, especially with yeasts, associated with inflammation, such as fungal infections of the skin, mucous membranes, in the folds of the body and between the toes or fingers. - Inflammations in the genital and anal areas, such as nappy dermatitis and soreness caused by mechanical irritation Dosage and directions for use: - All ages: apply a sufficient amount 3-4 times daily to the affected skin area(s); in infants, at each nappy change. - The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. - The duration of application is 2 weeks and should be continued for 8-10 days after symptoms have subsided Contraindications: - Hypersensitivity to the ingredients - Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult your doctor or pharmacist Side effects: - Hypersensitivity reactions of the skin such as skin rash and itching may occur Composition: - 1 g suspension contains: 70,000 IE nystatin and 0.49 g zinc oxide.
