Areas of application

The zinc oxide cream has a covering, protective effect and binds secretions in acute and subacute skin diseases.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The cream contains 250 mg zinc oxide as an active ingredient.The excipients include 150 mg of nonionic hydrophilic cream, 9 mg ethanol 90% (v/v), 50 mg glycerol 85%, purified water, 0.7 mg methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and 0.3 mg propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.

Contraindications

The cream must not be used if you are hypersensitive to zinc or other components or if you apply it to large areas of skin covering more than 20 percent of the body surface.

Precautions and warnings

The zinc oxide cream is not suitable for treating weeping skin diseases.Potassium sorbate and cetostearyl alcohol can cause localized skin irritation.

Interactions

Before using other dermatics, residues containing zinc oxide should be completely removed from the affected skin area, as the effect of other dermatics can be impaired.

Dosage instructions, type and duration of application

The cream should be applied to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day and allowed to dry.The duration of the application is not limited in time.

Side effects

After applying the cream to severely inflamed areas of skin, a slight burning sensation may occasionally occur.In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur.Occasionally, skin redness, a feeling of tension, signs of drying out, rough skin and acanthotic skin changes can occur.If such symptoms occur, therapy should be discontinued.

Notes on durability

The preparation should no longer be used after the printed expiry date has expired.After opening, the cream can be used for 6 months.It should not be stored above 25°C.Any leftover lotion on the skin should be brushed over and not rubbed off to avoid mechanical irritation of the skin.

Composition

100 g of the suspension contains 25.0 g of zinc oxide as a medicinally active ingredient.Other ingredients are (2-ethylhexyl) decanoate, glycerol 85%, non-ionic emulsifying alcohols, potassium sorbate, citric acid and purified water.
