Package leaflet for article NATRIUMCHLORID 1 MOL 5.85%G - Manufacturer: Serag-Wiessner GmbH & Co KG - Composition: 1000 ml electrolyte concentrate contains 58.44 g sodium chloride and water for injection. The pH value is between 5.0 and 7.0. - Pharmaceutical form and contents: Infusion solution concentrate, 100 ml in a glass bottle. - Group of substances or indications or mode of action: Electrolyte concentrate. - Indications: Hyponatraemia, hypochloraemia and hypotonic hyperhydration. - Contraindications: Absolute contraindication in isotonic and hypertonic hyperhydration. Relative contraindications in hypokalaemia, hypernatraemia, hyperchloraemia and certain diseases requiring restrictive sodium intake. Safe for use during pregnancy and lactation. - Precautions for use and warnings: Electrolyte and fluid status checks required. - Interactions with other medicinal products: Incompatibilities possible when mixed with other medicinal products. - Dosage instructions, route and duration of administration: For correction of deficiencies according to the formula for sodium deficiency. Maximum infusion rate and daily amount depend on the clinical situation. Use as central venous infusion after addition to infusion solutions. - Overdosage: Symptoms are overhydration, hypernatremia, hyperchloremia, hyperosmolarity and acidotic metabolism. Therapy includes interruption of solution supply and accelerated elimination. - Side effects: Hypernatremia, hyperchloremia, acute volume problems, osmotic diuresis, diarrhoea, venous irritation, phlebitis and thrombophlebitis. - Information and data concerning shelf life: Unused after expiry date.
