Description

Tumarol N Balsam is a medicine that is used for colds of the respiratory tract.It is used externally to improve the condition of uncomplicated colds, hoarseness and bronchial catarrh.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The balm contains 50 mg camphor, 150 mg eucalyptus oil and 25 mg levomenthol.(RS)-2-octyldodecan-1-ol and white petroleum jelly are included as excipients.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients.It is not suitable for infants and young children under 2 years of age because camphor and menthol can cause laryngeal spasm, which can lead to serious breathing problems.The medicine should also not be used in cases of bronchial asthma, whooping cough, pseudocroup and other respiratory diseases with pronounced hypersensitivity of the airways, as inhalation can lead to spasm of the bronchial muscles.The medicine is also not suitable for inhalation therapy for acute inflammation of the respiratory tract and acute pneumonia as well as for external rubbing in skin and childhood diseases with rash or on damaged skin, such as burns.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.If you are unsure, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.For external use, the chest and back are rubbed well in the morning and evening with a strand of ointment approximately 1 to 4 cm long and then covered with a cloth.Additionally, an inhalation treatment or facial steam bath can be performed up to 2 to 3 times a day: add 5 to 10 cm of ointment to 1 to 2 liters of hot water and inhale the vapors under a cloth for several minutes.When inhaling, you should close or cover your eyes to avoid possible irritation of the conjunctiva.Do not allow children to inhale unsupervised as there is a risk of scalding.

If symptoms last longer than 3 to 5 days, shortness of breath, headache, fever or purulent/bloody sputum or nasal discharge, you should urgently consult a doctor.

If you have used a larger amount than you should, no overdose symptoms are to be expected when used as intended for external use or inhalation.If taken accidentally, nausea, vomiting and possibly diarrhea may occur.Even with external use and overdose, symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, feeling of heat, weakness, dry mouth, diarrhea and fever can occur in rare cases.When applied externally to large areas, symptoms of poisoning such as kidney damage and damage to the central nervous system can occur.

If you have used too little or have forgotten an application, do not use a double dose next time, but continue the application as prescribed or described.

Application

For external use, rub your chest and back well with a 1 to 4 cm long strand of ointment and cover the rubbed areas with a cloth.For inhalation, add 5 to 10 cm of ointment to 1 to 2 liters of hot water and breathe in the vapors under a cloth for several minutes.Be sure to close or cover your eyes to avoid irritation of the conjunctiva.Do not allow children to inhale unsupervised as there is a risk of scalding.Make sure that children cannot come into contact with the rubbed skin areas with their hands.

Patient information

The preparation should only be used externally and for inhalation treatment.Do not use the balm on mucous membranes, including the nose, or around the eyes.Do not use the medicine on the face.You should wash your hands well after use.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Due to insufficient examinations, you should not use the medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
