Instructions for use of the article Hydrogen peroxide solution 3% Hydrogen peroxide solution 3% is used for cleaning wounds, as a mouth disinfectant for bad breath and for rinsing in cases of bleeding gums and inflammation of the oral mucosa. In cases of a genetically caused catalase deficiency, known as acatalasemia, the effect of the solution is reduced and therefore not recommended. There are no known interactions with other remedies. Before use, the solution should be diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 5 to 1 to 10. Application in closed body cavities should be avoided to prevent the risk of gas embolism. There are no known side effects. The solution consists of 3 g hydrogen peroxide per 100 ml, in addition to purified water and phosphoric acid. The solution is stabilised with 10% phosphoric acid. It should be stored below 25°C and kept out of reach of children. In case of further questions on the use, it is recommended to consult the doctor or pharmacist.
