This medical product is a so-called defoamer.It is used for the symptomatic treatment of gas-related gastrointestinal complaints, such as flatulence (meteorism), a feeling of fullness and functional dyspepsia.It is also used to prepare for diagnostics in the abdominal area, such as endoscopy, x-rays and sonography.

140 mg simeticone, quinoline yellow as an excipient, iron (III) oxide, red as an excipient, gelatin as an excipient, glycerol 85% as an excipient.

Dosage

For gas-related gastrointestinal complaints, adults and adolescents aged 14 and over take 1 to 2 soft capsules as a single dose (corresponding to 140 to 280 mg Simeticone).The total daily dose is 3 to 6 soft capsules (corresponding to 420 to 840 mg simeticone).For children under 14 years and infants, other dosage forms are available to achieve an appropriate dosage.The duration of application depends on the course of the symptoms.If necessary, the soft capsules can also be taken over a longer period of time.

To prepare for imaging examinations, adults and children aged 6 years and over take 2 to 3 soft capsules (corresponding to 280 to 420 mg simeticone) the day before the examination.On the morning of the examination, 1 soft capsule (corresponding to 140 mg simeticone) is taken again.

Intake

The soft capsules should be taken with or after meals and, if necessary, before going to bed.The soft capsules are swallowed whole.You can also swallow the capsules with some liquid, such as a glass of water, if this makes it easier for you to take them.

Contraindications

Must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to Simeticon or any of the other ingredients.

Patient information
