The Vliwasorb is a superabsorbent wound dressing that was specially developed for heavily exuding wounds.The dressing absorbs many times its own weight in fluid and hardly releases the bound exudate, even under mechanical pressure.This protects the wound edges from maceration.Vliwasorb can be used excellently under compression bandages and saves time and money due to the low number of bandage changes required.Fewer dressing changes allow the wound to rest for longer and reduce the risk of infection by absorbing and binding germs in the wound dressing.By absorbing exudate, slough and cell debris, wound cleaning is promoted and the moist wound environment supports wound healing.

Areas of application

The Vliwasorb is suitable for various applications, including heavily exuding wounds, superficial wounds in the exudation phase such as arterial and venous ulcers, burns and scalds (grade III after surgical debridement), postoperative secondary healing wounds, laparotomy wounds and fistulas.

The bandage should not be cut.The Vliwasorb is very suitable for use under compression bandages and can be used as a secondary bandage for heavily exuding wounds in combination with moist wound care bandages.

Product composition

The Vliwasorb consists of polyethylene, polypropylene, cellulose and sodium polyacrylate (superabsorbent).It is available in non-adhesive and self-adhesive versions (Vliwasorb adhesive).
