Vliwasorb is a super-absorbent wound dressing that can absorb many times its own weight in fluid.This dressing hardly releases the bound exudate even under mechanical pressure, which protects the wound edges from maceration.Vliwasorb is ideal for use under compression bandages.Due to the small number of dressing changes required, Vliwasorb saves time and money.Fewer dressing changes allow the wound to rest for longer and reduce the risk of infection by absorbing and binding germs in the wound dressing.The absorption of exudate, slough and cell debris promotes wound cleaning, and the moist wound environment supports wound healing.

Areas of application

Vliwasorb is used for heavily exuding wounds.These include superficial wounds in the exudation phase, such as arterial and venous ulcers, burns and scalds (grade III after surgical debridement), postoperative secondary healing wounds, laparotomy wounds and fistulas.
