Mode of action

Kodan tincture forte colorless is effective against bacteria, viruses (lipophilic) and fungi.Wound healing is not impaired by the product, but is actually promoted.The effectiveness of the product is as follows:

MRSA: ready to use, exposure time 15 seconds.

Limited virucidal according to DVV: ready to use, exposure time 15 seconds.

HSV according to DVV: ready for use, exposure time 15 seconds.

Adenovirus according to DVV: ready to use, exposure time 10 minutes.

Rotavirus according to DVV: ready to use, exposure time 30 seconds.

The active ingredients of Kodan tincture forte colorless are 2-propanol (45.0 g), 1-propanol (10.0 g) and biphenyl-2-ol (0.20 g) per 100 g of solution.The product also contains hydrogen peroxide solution (30%) and purified water as other ingredients.

Contraindications

Kodan tincture forte colorless should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.It is not suitable for surgical hand disinfection.

Dosage

Kodan tincture forte colorless is applied undiluted.For hygienic hand disinfection, 3 ml of the product is placed on the skin and left to act for 30 seconds.The product should take effect for 15 seconds before injections and blood samples.Before all invasive procedures, the product is used undiluted by spraying the affected skin area or treating it with a soaked swab.It is important to ensure that the skin is completely wetted and that the exposure times are adhered to.Excess preparation should be absorbed to avoid puddling.

During preoperative skin antisepsis, the hair on the affected skin area should be mechanically shortened or chemically removed.Basic preoperative washings are recommended.To avoid smudging of skin markings, only skin marking pens with sufficient alcohol resistance should be used.

Kodan tincture forte colorless is intended for external use on intact skin.It should be kept out of the reach of children.If you accidentally come into contact with your eyes, you should immediately rinse with plenty of water while keeping your eyelids open for several minutes.

Application

Before joint punctures and during preoperative skin antisepsis, the hair on the affected skin area should be mechanically shortened or chemically removed.Basic preoperative washings are recommended.

During postoperative suturing, excess amounts of preparation should be dabbed or allowed to drain away.

Notes

The product is intended for external use on intact skin and should be kept out of the reach of children.Due to the high alcohol content, it should not be used on premature babies and newborns with immature skin. The product is flammable and must not be brought into contact with flames or switched on electrical heat sources.Once the medicine has been opened, it should not be used for longer than 12 months, but not beyond the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Before injections, punctures, excisions and other procedures, the preparation should be allowed to dry thoroughly to avoid affecting the measurement results.Before joint punctures and during preoperative skin antisepsis, care should be taken to ensure sufficient drying in order not to impair the adhesion of incision films.When operating on skin rich in sebaceous glands, the affected skin area should be kept moist by applying it repeatedly for 2 minutes.During postoperative suture care, surgical sutures should preferably be swabbed with a soaked swab.
