Zinc orotate-POS are enteric-coated tablets used to treat zinc deficiency conditions. Zinc is a vital trace element that is involved in many metabolic processes in the body. A deficiency can manifest itself, among other things, in disturbances of the sense of taste, loss of appetite, fatigue, skin problems and an increased susceptibility to infections. Certain groups of people such as older people, vegans or vegetarians, pregnant women and people with certain diseases have an increased risk of zinc deficiency. Zinc orotate-POS contains zinc orotate, an organic zinc compound that is well absorbed and utilised by the body. The tablets are enteric-coated, which is easy on the stomach and ensures that the zinc is only released and absorbed in the small intestine. The recommended dosage for adults is one tablet three times a day; the dose can be reduced if necessary. A lower dosage is provided for children from 4 years of age. It should be taken before meals with sufficient liquid. Side effects are rare but may occur. The product should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to zinc or other ingredients. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking the product. The product should be stored away from heat.
