Information for use of the article Doctan Active Spray: Product properties: Doctan Active Spray is a water-alcohol based solution with a hint of olive blossom fragrance. It protects against bites from mosquitoes and other blood-sucking insects such as ticks, horseflies and biting flies. The spray forms a reliable protective film on the skin and is quickly absorbed. It leaves no stains and can also be used under thin clothing. Due to its cooling effect, Doctan Active is particularly popular at higher temperatures and during outdoor sports activities. Application: Doctan Active Spray should be sprayed directly onto healthy, preferably dry skin every 12 hours. The product should be left on for a short time before getting dressed. It should not be sprayed directly onto the face. Area of application: Doctan Active provides up to 12 hours of protection against domestic, tropical and subtropical mosquitoes. It is effective against ticks, horseflies and biting flies for up to 8 hours. The product can also protect against the vector of the Zika virus (yellow fever). The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends Icaridin as a means of malaria prophylaxis. Active ingredient: The active ingredient in Doctan Active is icaridin (saltidin). General application tips: - The effect of insect repellents is impaired by temperatures above 40°C, so they should not be left in the blazing sun. - Use the spray only on healthy skin and make sure that there are no sunburn spots. - Shower thoroughly before jumping into the water and apply the insect repellent only after bathing. - If you sweat excessively, you may need to reapply more often. - Check skin, hair and clothing for crawling ticks before going to bed, although Icaridin protects against biting. - Apply sunscreen first and then use Doctan Active. - Mosquitoes may still bite if the fabric is very thin, so apply the spray before dressing. - The product is safe for livestock and pets such as dogs, cats and horses.
