Instructions for use for HIRUDOID® FORTE cream, 100 g

HIRUDOID® FORTE Cream - Strong effect on superficial phlebitis and bruises

Swollen veins, which lead to varicose veins, are uncomfortable for many people.Although they can theoretically form in any vein in the body, they occur in the legs in 90 percent of cases. These venous diseases are among the most common diseases in Germany.Women are affected two to four times more often than men. However, only around twelve percent of those affected show such severe varicose veins that medical treatment is necessary.

In most cases, sufficient exercise, avoiding extreme heat such as saunas or sunbathing, and alternating showers that promote blood circulation can help as preventative measures. The rule “It’s better to lie or walk than sit or stand” also helps reduce risk. HIRUDOID® FORTE Cream supports the healing of superficial venous diseases.

HIRUDOID® FORTE is available as a cream and cooling gel. Both dosage forms contain an active ingredient concentration of 445 mg chondroitin polysulfate per tube (100 g).To activate the calf muscle pump, the cream and gel should be gently massaged towards the heart.

Good reasons for HIRUDOID® FORTE cream

The cream has a decongestant effect and accelerates the regression of bruises. It promotes the healing process for superficial phlebitis and can also be used under an ointment bandage.

No prescription is required for this product.

If the inflammation is particularly painful, the affected area should be carefully coated with the cream and covered with a bandage. In these cases, the ointment should not be rubbed or massaged in.The cream is also suitable for physical treatment procedures such as iontophoresis and phonophoresis.During iontophoresis, the ointment is applied under the cathode.

The application should be continued until the symptoms have subsided. For blunt injuries, the treatment period is usually up to 10 days, for superficial phlebitis one to two weeks. If the symptoms have not improved after 14 days of regular use or if symptoms reoccur after treatment has been completed, please consult your doctor.
