Description

Glucosamine-ratiopharm® contains the active ingredient glucosamine, which occurs naturally in the body.Glucosamine is a normal component of connective tissue, cartilage and synovial fluid.This preparation belongs to a group of medicines called other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic medicines.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Glucosamine-ratiopharm® is used to relieve symptoms of mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee joint.The usual starting dose is one sachet (1500 mg glucosamine) once daily.Dissolve the contents of the sachet in a glass of water and take the medicine with food or on an empty stomach.

The active ingredient is glucosamine hemisulfate.One sachet contains 1500 mg glucosamine hemisulfate as glucosamine hemisulfate sodium chloride (1:1), equivalent to 1178 mg glucosamine.The other ingredients are aspartame, sorbitol (Ph.Eur.), citric acid and Macrogol 4000. Contraindications

Dosage

If you take more than you should, you must contact your doctor or a hospital.Signs and symptoms of glucosamine overdose may include headache, dizziness, confusion, joint pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation.If you experience signs of overdose, you must stop taking glucosamine.
