The calcium alginate dressing is soft and drapeable.It combines high absorption capacity with high structural strength.The bandage does not stick to the wound and can be easily removed in one piece.

3M Tegaderm Alginate is a highly absorbent compress or tamponade made from sterile calcium alginate fibers.It is used as a primary wound dressing for moderately to heavily exuding, covered or deep ulcers.The alginate, together with the wound exudate, forms a gelatinous layer, traps germs and cell debris and promotes autolytic wound cleaning.

The compress has dimensions of 5 x 5 cm and contains 10 pieces.

Indications

The dressing is suitable for absorption and support of autolytic debridement in moderately to heavily exuding, deep wounds.These include leg ulcers of various origins, such as venous, arterial or mixed ulcers, decubitus ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, split-thickness skin donor sites, cuts and abrasions, postoperative wounds, traumatic wounds and wound cavities.The wearing time is up to 7 days.

Contraindications

The bandage should not be used on tendons, ligaments and bones.

Application

Place the compress on the wound surface or in deep wounds.3M Tegaderm Alginate can also be cut to size.Cover the compress with a secondary dressing.

Remove the bandage if necessary or after 7 days at the latest.It can be removed in one piece.Any remaining fibers can be flushed out of the wound or easily absorbed by the body.
