Adults take 1 to 4 film-coated tablets daily, children weighing more than 25 kg take 1 to 3 film-coated tablets daily.The tablets should be taken 30 minutes before a meal with a glass of orange juice as vitamin C improves the absorption of iron.It takes a few weeks to months for iron stores to be replenished.It is therefore important to take it continuously for at least 8 weeks.In addition, foods containing iron such as sesame, soy, legumes, grains, nuts, fish and meat should be consumed regularly.

The iron tablets ratiopharm N 50 mg film-coated tablets contain iron (II) sulfate 1-water, which corresponds to 50 mg iron (II) ions.Other ingredients include maltodextrin, calcium stearate, lactose monohydrate, copovidone, macrogol 400, talc, calcium carbonate, cocoa butter, magnesium stearate, shellac, titanium dioxide, cellulose powder, corn starch, carboxymethyl starch sodium, sodium dodecyl sulfate, sucrose, povidone K25 and iron oxides and hydroxides.

Contraindications

The product should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, iron utilization disorders, an excess of iron in the body or anemia that is not due to iron deficiency.A doctor should be consulted before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you are taking other iron supplements at the same time or if you have gastrointestinal diseases.Food components such as tea, coffee and milk can inhibit iron absorption and should not be taken at the same time.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents take 1 film-coated tablet 1 to 4 times daily.Children weighing 20-50 kg take 1 film-coated tablet 1 to 3 times a day.The tablets should be swallowed whole and with enough water.It is recommended to take 30 minutes before or between meals.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be taken whole in the morning on an empty stomach or 1 hour before meals with sufficient liquid.The tablets should not be sucked, chewed or kept in the mouth for long periods of time.

Notes

The medicine should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package. It contains lactose, sucrose and less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per film-coated tablet.
