Acidum Formicae is a registered homeopathic medicine used without specifying a therapeutic indication.It is a liquid dilution for injection that is used in anthroposophic therapy.

Active ingredients and composition

Each ampoule of Acidum Formicae contains the active ingredient Acidum formicicum e formica in various dilutions:

Acidum Formicae D6: Acidum formicicum e formica Dil.D6 aquos.(HAB, V. 5b) 1 ml

Acidum Formicae D10: Acidum formicicum e formica Dil.D10 (HAB, V. 5a; D8 with water for injections) 1 ml

Acidum Formicae D30: Acidum formicicum e formica Dil.D30 (HAB, V. 5a; D28 with water for injections) 1 ml

The liquid dilution for injection D6 contains sodium chloride as an other ingredient.The liquid dilutions for injection D10 and D30 are isotonized with sodium chloride.

Contraindications

Acidum Formicae D6 must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to ant poison.There are no known contraindications for the liquid dilutions for injection D10 and D30.

Precautions for use

Acidum Formicae liquid dilutions for injection should not be used in children under 12 years of age as there is no adequately documented experience.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, Acidum Formicae liquid dilutions for injection should only be used after consulting a doctor.

Interactions with other medicines

There are no known interactions with other medicines.

Dosage and application

The potency level suitable for the treatment is selected by the doctor based on the respective clinical picture and prescribed individually for the patient.The subcutaneous injection is usually carried out in the thigh, the outside of the upper arm or the abdominal region.After cleaning the injection site, form a fold of skin and insert the injection needle at an angle.Pull back the syringe plunger slightly.If blood appears, a blood vessel has been hit.In this case, repeat the injection at another location.If no blood appears, inject slowly, then pull out the needle and briefly press the injection site with a swab.It is recommended that the injection technique be learned by someone experienced in it.
