Comfort and safety - the Wellion Medfine plus pen needles were developed specifically to meet the requirements of optimal diabetes therapy.The extra fine facet-cut needle, combined with the thin silicone coating for effortless gliding, offers maximum comfort.The expanded inner diameter also enables optimal insulin flow.The extra fine Wellion Medfine plus pen needles are available in different lengths to meet the individual needs of diabetics.The protective cap of each individual pen needle has a specific color depending on the needle length so that the different lengths can be easily distinguished from one another (color coding).During diabetes training, the correct needle length for each diabetic who injects insulin is determined together with the supervising medical staff.

Correct handling

After removing a fresh pen needle, first remove the hygiene seal.Next, screw the pen needle onto your insulin pen and then remove the outer needle cover.When using NPH or mixed insulins, the insulin pen must be swirled carefully so that the insulin is mixed evenly.This step is not necessary for clear, transparent insulins.

After removing the inner needle protective cover, the permeability test is carried out.To do this, set 2 units of insulin on the pen and inject them into the air.Repeat this process until insulin comes out of the tip of the needle.The required insulin dose can now be set on the pen.Insert the needle into the skin and press the pen release button.

Count to 10 and only then remove the needle from the skin.When injecting into a skin fold, hold it the entire time while counting to 10.Now unscrew the used needle from the pen - you can use the outer protective cap for this.Now dispose of the needle in the safe Wellion disposal container.
