Vitamin B Duo is a combination preparation from the group of B vitamins that contains vitamin B1 and vitamin B6.This product is available without a prescription.It is used to treat neurological systemic diseases caused by a proven deficiency of vitamins B1 and B6.

A deficiency of vitamins B1 and B6 rarely occurs in isolation.Therefore, before starting treatment, it should be checked whether other vitamins are also missing.If you do not feel better or even feel worse after taking it, please contact your doctor.

Each film-coated tablet contains 100 mg thiamine chloride hydrochloride, equivalent to 89.19 mg thiamine, and 100 mg pyridoxine hydrochloride, equivalent to 82.27 mg pyridoxine.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: calcium carbonate, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, iron(III)hydroxide oxide x-water, iron(III)oxide, hypromellose, macrogol 35000, magnesium stearate, polyoxyethylene (8) monostearate, propylene glycol, highly disperse silicon dioxide, stearic acid and talc.

Contraindications

The product must not be taken if you are allergic to thiamine chloride hydrochloride, pyridoxine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

The recommended dose for adults is 1 film-coated tablet once a day, which corresponds to 100 mg vitamin B1 and 100 mg vitamin B6.

After four weeks of therapy, the doctor should decide whether further therapeutic measures are necessary.

If you have taken more than you should, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.Vitamin B1 has a wide range of applications.Long-term use of vitamin B6 in doses above 50 mg/day and short-term use in doses above 1 g/day can lead to neurotoxic effects.An overdose of vitamin B6 is essentially manifested by sensory neuropathy, possibly with ataxia (coordination disorders).Extremely high doses can result in convulsions.In newborns and infants, severe sedation (calming), hypotension (low blood pressure) and respiratory disorders (dyspnea [Atemnot], apnea [Atemstillstand]) may occur.

If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.Continue use as described in the dosage instructions.

Intake

The film-coated tablets can be taken regardless of meals.Please take the tablets whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water (200 ml).

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the product.Tingling and pins and needles on the hands and feet (signs of peripheral sensory neuropathy or paresthesia) were observed with long-term ingestion of daily doses over 50 mg and with short-term ingestion of doses in the gram range.If you notice tingling and pins and needles, please contact your doctor.This will check the amount taken and, if necessary, stop the medication.

No special precautions are required to drive vehicles or operate machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, your daily vitamin requirements should be ensured with a balanced diet.

This medicine is only useful for treating vitamin deficiency (due to the amount of active ingredient) and may therefore only be taken after careful risk/benefit assessment by the doctor.There are no systematic studies on the use of this medicine during pregnancy.

Vitamin B1 and B6 are excreted in breast milk.
