Area of application

This medicine is a therapeutic agent for the treatment of the scalp that relieves dandruff and reduces inflammation.It is used for the initial treatment of mild to moderate scalp psoriasis.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in this preparation is salicylic acid.The solution contains 100 mg of salicylic acid per 100 g.In addition, propylene glycol and propylene glycol octanoate decanoate are included as excipients.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to salicylic acid, other salicylates or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also not permitted if you have impaired kidney function or liver dysfunction.In addition, the preparation should not be used in unstable, inflammatory or acute psoriasis, in which the skin is sensitive to touch, itches and worsens when exposed to the sun.Newborns, infants and children under 12 years of age are not allowed to use the product, nor are pregnant women in the last trimester of pregnancy.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.Use 2 to 3 times a week, but not on consecutive days.For the entire hairy scalp area, 8-10 ml of the product is required, which corresponds to approximately 0.8-1.0 g of salicylic acid.The maximum daily dose for adults of 2 g of salicylic acid (equivalent to 20 ml of the preparation) should not be used for longer than one week.The treatment period is usually 3 to 4 weeks.The same dosage recommendations apply to children aged 12 and over and adolescents as to adults.

No prescription is required for this product.

If you use more than you should, symptoms such as ringing in the ears, deafness, nosebleeds, nausea, vomiting and dryness of the mucous membranes may occur.In this case, stop treatment immediately and inform your doctor.If accidentally swallowed, contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately.

If you forget to use it, do not use double the amount next time, but continue the treatment with the usual amount.If you stop using the medication, you should discuss the next steps with your doctor so as not to endanger the success of the treatment.

Application

The preparation is a solution for use on the skin.Do not wet your scalp before use.Leave the solution on for 10 to 30 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with warm water.Be sure to tilt your head back and keep your eyes closed to prevent the solution from getting into your eyes.Then wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product.The product is only intended for external use on the scalp.Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mucous membranes and healthy skin.Be careful not to allow the solution to run past the hairline onto the face or neck.If the solution accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse them with plenty of cold tap water and contact your doctor or pharmacist if symptoms of irritation occur.Elderly patients should exercise particular caution as salicylic acid can affect the entire body.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.The medicine must not be used during pregnancy.The product can be used during breastfeeding, but not in the breast area.
