Directions for use of the product ZINKAMIN FALK Important information: ZINKAMIN Falk hard capsules contain the active substance histidine and are used to treat zinc deficiency. The duration of use should be determined by the doctor treating the patient. Especially in case of long-term use, the copper level in the blood should also be monitored. Interactions with other medicines may occur. Taking iron, copper or calcium salts may reduce the absorption of zinc. Zinc interferes with the absorption of tetracyclines and ofloxacin. Chelating agents such as D-penicillamine, DMPS or EDTA may affect zinc absorption. Foods high in phytate may also reduce zinc absorption. Adults should take one hard capsule daily 1 hour before a meal. The duration of use should be agreed with the doctor. An overdose may cause metallic taste, headache, diarrhoea and vomiting. In case of a forgotten intake, the treatment should be continued normally at the next time. Gastrointestinal complaints may rarely occur.
