Cutimed Sorbact is an advanced wound dressing that fights infections in a particularly safe and effective way.This happens purely physically, without the use of chemical antimicrobial substances.The special Sorbact coating gives the bandage strong hydrophobic, i.e. water-repellent, properties.Many harmful bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore bind to the Sorbact tissue.Every time the dressing is changed, the number of germs in the wound is reduced, which creates optimal conditions for the natural healing process.

Sorbact is a registered trademark of ABIGO medical AB.Cutimed Sorbact consists of acetate or cotton fabric fibers that offer effective infection management through a bacteria-binding coating.The formula is latex-free and is not made with natural rubber latex.

Areas of application

Cutimed Sorbact is suitable for all clean, colonized, contaminated or infected exuding wounds.These include chronic wounds such as venous, arterial or diabetic ulcers as well as pressure ulcers.Postoperative wounds and wound dehiscences, traumatic wounds and wounds after excision of fistulas and abscesses can also be treated.The bandage can also be used for fungal skin infections, namely for tamponade.

Change of dressing

The dressing change depends on the amount of exudate and the overall condition of the wound and the wound surroundings.As a rule, the dressing can be worn for up to 7 days if the clinical condition permits.
