Cutimed Sorbact is an advanced wound dressing that physically fights infections in a safe and effective manner.The bandage binds germs using the principle of hydrophobic interaction and does not use chemical antimicrobial substances.The special Sorbact coating gives the product strong water-repellent properties.Many harmful bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore adhere to Sorbact tissue.This reduces the number of germs in the wound every time the dressing is changed, which creates optimal conditions for the natural healing process.

Advantages

Cutimed Sorbact has no known mechanisms for the development of resistance in bacteria or fungi.Because it does not kill bacteria and fungi, no endotoxins are released, which can prevent delayed healing.The bandage can be used indefinitely during the course of therapy and has no known contraindications.

Cutimed Sorbact is made from acetate or cotton fabric fibers that provide effective infection management through a bacteria-binding coating.The formula is latex-free and is not made with natural rubber latex.

Areas of application

Cutimed Sorbact is suitable for all clean, colonized, contaminated or infected exuding wounds.These include chronic wounds such as venous, arterial or diabetic ulcers as well as pressure ulcers.Postoperative wounds and wound dehiscences, traumatic wounds, wounds after excision of fistulas and abscesses as well as fungal skin infections (applies to tamponade) can also be treated with it.

Change of dressing

The dressing change depends on the amount of exudate and the overall condition of the wound and the wound surroundings and can take up to 7 days if the clinical condition allows it.
